This public seminar raised awareness of energy efficiency among citizens, local community members, and representatives of small organizations. It presented practical, low-cost solutions for improving thermal performance and reducing energy consumption in homes and small public buildings. The session was co-led by experts in both technical energy efficiency and community-based sustainability strategies, providing a comprehensive view of how energy savings contribute to long-term environmental and social benefits. The seminar included visual demonstrations, expert Q&A, and case studies.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, trainees will be able to:

  • Define and explain the role of greenery in fostering sustainability across urban, peri-urban, and rural environments.
  • Identify and evaluate landscape values as an integrated component of public and communal spaces.
  • Apply and assess appropriate evaluation methods throughout the spatial design and planning process.
  • Analyze, compare, and adapt formal and alternative planning and design approaches to effectively address identified environmental and social challenges.
  • Synthesize creative and context-sensitive design solutions that integrate ecological, aesthetic, and social dimensions of sustainable spaces.

Effort

Flexible, self-paced format with an estimated total duration of 4 to 6 hours.

Format

Self-paced learning using a short video recording, infographic posters, a citizen guidebook, and a brief expert video. This compact format is tailored for general audiences, allowing flexible completion and promoting energy literacy through accessible digital content.
