"Seminar. Urban Regeneration and Cultural Heritage"

Forty master students at Lodz University of Technology successfully completed a course "Seminar. Urban Regeneration and Cultural Heritage". This course has been recognised as a pilot training within the NEBAP Hub under the EU-funded NEBA Alliance project.

The seminar began with a group activity introducing nature-based solutions in urban regeneration contexts, circular approach and adopting bio-based solutions in the built environment. Activities included brainstorm sessions and the Oxford debate. Each student then prepared a presentation to be given to the group. During the presentations, selected cases of revitalisation of historic areas were discussed and analysed, with a particular focus on examples from Poland and Europe concerning the revitalisation of historic city centres and post-industrial areas. The vast majority of the presentations dealt with issues relating to climate change, sustainable built environment, and reducing carbon footprint. Presentations ranged in scale from urban planning to modernisation of existing buildings."
