Aks is a strategic design studio and association based in Ankara, Türkiye, working at the intersection of architecture, design, planning and culture. Established in 2019, Aks began as a youth-led collective aiming to unite creative disciplines across universities. It has since evolved into a recognised platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and urban innovation. Aks envisions a future where cities are shaped collectively, through creative and sustainable practices. Our work centres on community-based design, spatial justice and gamification as tools to activate participation and rethink urban life. We bring together young designers, architects, planners and artists to co-create interventions that challenge conventional approaches to public space and urban development. Collaborating extensively across Europe, our portfolio includes collaborative pavilions, digital exhibitions, and temporary installations that prioritise local culture and heritage, ecological sensitivity, and the right to the city. By bringing cooperation across disciplines and sectors, we seek to create shared methodologies for change. Aks is committed to building networks of care, supporting the next generation of spatial thinkers, and making lasting contributions to the creative industries through imaginative, people-centred urban practices.
