Timber on Top – Digital Course on Vertical Timber Extensions

This free, 30-minute digital course introduces the concept of vertical extensions using timber construction. It explores the opportunities for urban densification by adding new floors atop existing buildings, thereby extending their lifespan and reducing the need to utilize undeveloped land.

The course is grounded in research from a Vinnova-funded project (2018–2022) involving over 50 stakeholders across the construction value chain, including municipalities, property owners, architects, and contractors. Participants will gain insights into the process from concept to implementation, supported by real-world case studies.
