Information Technology for Sustainable Design - BIM with Elements of Algorithmics

Module 1 (e-learning):

  • The concept and workflow of the building information modeling (BIM);
  • Introduction to the concept of algorithmics in relation to BIM processes;
  • Exploring simulation tools for low-energy buildings design in BIM.

Module 2 (laboratory):

  • Designing elements of information models of architectural objects in BIM software;
  • Building elements interactive schedules;
  • Analytical data, sun-study analysis, building performance.

Module 3 (final task):

  • Building an information model of a low-energy architectural object on the intermediate complexity level in BIM software;
  • Presenting design solutions using BIM tools;
  • Evaluation of the final results in the context of sustainable design.
